CATHERINE TAYLOR

Catherine Taylor, PhD, LCSW, MPH, is a Professor in the Boston College School of Social Work. Her research agenda is focused on the primary prevention of violence, especially violence that impacts children, and her scholarship contributes to the science of evidence-based interventions as well as understanding the important and complex role of social norms in this arena. Her website lists many resources on parenting.

THE UP INSTITUTE: Moving upstream to solve child abuse

The UP Institute provides upstream interventions and strategies for reducing adverse childhood experiences and promoting resilience so children and families can have positive, supportive, and healthy relationships.

STACIE LEBLANC

Stacie LeBlanc, JD, ME, co-founder of The UP Institute, began her career as a child abuse prosecutor in Jefferson Parish more than 30 years ago. Ms. LeBlanc became the chief of the Felony Child Abuse Division, began the Family Violence Program and helped open Child Advocacy Centers in rural and urban parishes. She received the “Outstanding Prosecutor Award” from Victims and Citizens Against Crime for the unit’s 94% conviction rate.
